YMMV / Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse

Go To

  • Les Yay: Starfire looks like she has one towards Zatanna, to the latter's clear discomfort. Batgirl herself makes literal heart eyes at Harley when she shows up to join the fight on the side of the DC Super Hero Girls and proceeds to give her a big hug
  • Older Than They Think: This wasn't the first DC animated film where Lex Luthor seemingly gained control of a powerful being with god-like powers like Cythonna, only to be Out-Gambitted and made to look like a Big Bad Wannabe. The first time it occurred was during JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time where Luthor took control of the Time Trapper but was eventually made painfully aware that he wasn't really the one in charge.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: There are audiences who wish the Titans actually contributed to the plot directly instead of sitting by the sidelines in the Framing Device for most of the film.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: For a title that has the words "Mayhem in the Multiverse", you would expect a lot of multiverse shenanigans going around with the heroes visiting alternate versions of other heroes, right? Wrong. The movie mainly focuses on the Super Hero Girls, since not only do they barely interact with the Titans, who are pretty much a Framing Device themselves, but their universes are pretty much the only ones that appear. And even though some more heroes appear in the form of the Superfriends, they just have a really small cameo near the end of the movie with the problem already dealt with, making their cameo not worth much. It can also be seen as a wasted opportunity to not have the Super Hero Girls meet or interact with their counterparts from the 2015 iteration of the franchise.
  • Unexpected Character:
    • Cythonna only ever appeared in one graphic novel that she debuted in (titled Last God of Krypton) and later referenced in Krypton. She probably isn't the first character to come to mind when talking about the DC Multiverse at all, considering she's mostly associated with Superman.
    • It's safe to say that absolutely no one anticipated the Superfriends showing up at the end of the film.
