• Dueling Movies: With another Found Footage film, The Dinosaur Project.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Deadpan Snarker Charlie is usually considered the best part of the movie, mostly due to the fact that he usually points out the stupidity of the situations the survivors are in and of the survivors themselves. Too bad being a Jerkass in a horror movie doesn't help him in the end.
• The Scrappy: Trish, who spends the entire movie screaming at everyone about her injury, all while being unbelievably annoying about it.
• Special Effects Failure: At one point, a raptor runs past a window while the survivors struggle to keep another one from barging into the cabin they have entered. Even if it's borderline Freeze-Frame Bonus, you can see it's not moving at all, and probably was a mannequin or cardboard cut out.
