• Awesome Music: The main theme, "Dulce Libertad", is a catchy comedic number that became Recycled Trailer Music for a very long time.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Watch this film then The Patriot (2000) back-to-back. The first film (intentionally) gave Tarleton a Historical Villain Downgrade, while Gibson gave his Expy Tavington a Historical Villain Upgrade (which would be hard to do, since Tarleton was a bit of a bastard).
