- Best Known for the Fanservice: Bridget from 2002 was invited after the show to give a cheque for a charity as long as she turned up in her bikini. She declined.
- Elimination Houdini: Chris. He was always facing an awkward fate at every Tribal Council and looked certain to be eliminated, but a long streak of immunity wins, brilliant tactical gameplay and the general (correct) feeling that he couldn't win the game brought him to the final.
- Narm: Joel takes the cover off to reveal the 2023 tribal immunity idol as contestants eagerly await the design to find... a horrific design made out of yellow swimming goggles. Even the contestants are less than impressed.
- It turns out the original one was damaged on the way to the Dominican Republic, and producers had to come up with a last-minute replacement.
- Questionable Casting: Joel Dommett in 2023. He clearly knew his stuff about the show and would have been better with a few more series under his belt, but the announcement of a light-hearted comedian from The Masked Singer as host was quite the surprise.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- 2001 contestant Zoe Lyons became a successful comedian and game show host in the 2010s/20s.
- Leilani from 2023 was a late-90s pop star, and had a Top 20 single in 1999.
- Sleeper Hit: The 2023 reboot. Many viewers who gave the first episode a look found it slow, but when it livened up towards the end it became an iPlayer hit.
- Spiritual Successor: I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. It's pretty much the same idea but with celebrities, Ant and Dec, and in a jungle in Australia.
