• Awesome Music: "Don't Fear the Reaper" by The Blue Öyster Cult plays while the Reaper takes the life of the jogger and the man on oxygen in the wheelchair is saved.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Roy La Grange's line of "I didn't pick you, son. The Lord did." becomes so much worse when it turns out that God did pick Dean, and not for benevolent reasons.
• The Woobie: Roy La Grange. The poor guy genuinely thought he had divinely granted healing powers, and by episode's end he's left as just a regular blind man, with no idea why they went away or why his wife died at the same time.
