YMMV / Star Trek Continues

Go To

  • Cargo Ship: Kirk and the Enterprise, as per tradition.
  • He Really Can Act: Vic Mignogna's capacity as a voice actor is not disputed at all, but he pulls an incredible live-action job as Kirk.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Fiona Vroom, who plays Green-Skinned Space Babe Lolani, was later cast as in Star Trek Beyond...as another Orion.
  • Les Yay: Some between McKennah and Lolani.
    • Ho Yay: Wouldn't be Star Trek without some between Kirk and Spock.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: A Star Trek show, even a fan production, just wouldn't be Star Trek without some kind of commentary on contemporary politics:
    • "Embracing the Winds", released in 2016, is an episode-long allegory asking the question of whether the United States of America is ready to elect its first female President - and whether Hillary Rodham Clinton in particular is the one who should be that first female President. However, the allegory runs into problems because although Cmdr. Garrett (the Hillary analogue) has many of her Real Life counterpart's flaws, her rival for promotion to starship captain isn't an equally (if not moreso) controversial Trump figure, but instead Spock - an extremely competent and experienced officer with an exemplary service record.
    • The plot of "What Ships Are For" has clear parallels to the European refugee crisis of the late 2010s.
