  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The episode suddenly grinds to a halt to make an extended Take That! at The Day After Tomorrow and its portrayal of global warming, which comes out of nowhere and has nothing to do with the rest of the story. It comes off as an Out-of-Character Moment for the redneck leader, who is suddenly being used as a mouthpiece for Parker and Stone's views on the subject at the time, despite the rest of the episode treating him as someone we're not supposed to agree with.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Stan successfully convinces everyone that if they try to make the present better, then the future people will go away. Cue the heartwarming montage that shows the future people successfully fading away, only for Stan to lose interest and admit that a pile of naked men is less gay than working hard.
  • Fridge Horror: The episode ends with everyone getting back on the gay pile. The boys appear to be joining them.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • The redneck's statement that all "proven scientific data" debunks global warming has obviously not aged well.
    • In addition, the redneck's suggestion of shooting any future immigrants who attempt to enter present-day America through the time border would be jarring to hear today after a shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas on August 3, 2019 which killed 22 customers and injured 24 with the motive being hate towards Hispanic immigrants.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: After jumping on the gay pile, Randy is later seen wiping his mouth. In "Sarcastaball" Randy recognizes the taste of cum.
  • Signature Line: "They took our jobs!"
    • "Dey turk er jerbs!"
    • "Derker derb!"
  • Values Dissonance: Several examples, befitting a topical episode regarding immigration in the early-mid 2000s.
    • One of the rednecks suggests that, to prevent the future from happening, they should speed up global warming to cause an ice age, to which Darryl asks how the hell that would work. As well as using the outdated term ("climate change" is now the preferred term), the notion that all "proven scientific data" debunks global warming is now seen as a product of its time.
    • Additionally, when Darryl calls another redneck out for his stupid plan, he tells him that he sounds "like a fucking retard". These days, the word in question would cause outrage even amongst his fellow rednecks, since it's recognized as a serious slur against people with mental disabilities.
    • Finally, the town plans to change the future for the better so the immigrants from the future won't need to return to the present for a better life. It works...until people decide that their actions in the Hard-Work Montage are "even gayer" than their original plan to turn the people from the future gay by having all men have sex in a big pile in front of them, before resuming said idea. It hardly needs explaining why such a thought would be considered offensive today.
