• Fridge Brilliance: Debbie explains to a woman that they're selling their mother cat's kittens so they can have her "shoveled." George corrects her that the cat is going to be spayed...or is that "spade"?
• Values Dissonance: A random woman has a scandalized reaction when George says they're saving up to have Socks' mother spayed. Starting in the 1970s (at least in the US), spaying/neutering for cats and dogs has become part of standard pet care. In fact, it is considered irresponsible to not do so, because pet shelters are overflowing with homeless cats and dogs, and allowing them to breed freely contributes to the problem.
