- Spiritual Successor: It is one to a past game made by Polygon Magic, Vs. (of which that game was itself made as a Transatlantic Equivalent to Polygon Magic's own Fighters' Impact). Slap Happy Rhythm Busters similarly to Vs. has a strong focus on urban street culture and even has characters sharing the names of those that were in the latter title (Mia, Ramos, and Oreg/Oleg) and even having a strong resemblance to the Vs characters.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The graphics are extremely impressive looking, thanks to the cel-shading and can even pass off for a game that was released today.
