  • Awesome Music: Aside from Mr. Six's theme which is "We Like to Party" by Vengaboys, when Premier took over ownership in 1999 (and began converting their parks to the Six Flags name while adding stuff to others), they included a majestic new theme in their commercials (warning: the flashing screens in these ads may cause seizures). This is a thrill that neeeveer ennnddsss...
  • Broken Base: Viper and Riddler's Revenge at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Some consider them to be intense rides with large, unique layouts, while others find them too rough to enjoy.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • The Avalanche Bobsled at Six Flags Over Texas was renamed "La Vibora" to better fit in with the Spain theme area, but most people still refer to it as "the bobsled".
    • Clone coasters also get this treatment, for example, Goliath, MM's is "Giovanola Goliath", OG's is "B&M Goliath", LR's is "Canadian Goliath", etc.
    • Six Flags Magic Mountain has sometimes been given the nickname “Wally World” by fans due to its inclusion in a certain film. See Hey, It's That Place! in the trivia.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Many people come to Six Flags Great Adventure just to ride Kingda Ka, the world’s tallest roller coaster.
  • Once Original, Now Common:
    • Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain is not only the oldest existing looping coaster, but also the first constructed after many years of looping coasters not being built. It's difficult to appreciate this fact when the coasters surrounding it dwarf it in size, speed, and design, especially when the coaster with the world's largest vertical loop (Full Throttle) is only a short walk away. However, it's currently undergoing renovation to keep it up to date.
    • The Six Flags website considers Magic Mountain's Gold Rusher to be this. It still remains for its historic significance and appeal to families with smaller children.
"In 1966, the summer debut of the Runaway Mine Train was an overwhelming success. By today’s standards, the height and speed appear pretty tame, but for the 1960s, it was state of the art."
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: In recent years, several old and/or unbearably rough wooden coasters throughout the Six Flags chain note  have gotten converted by Rocky Mountain Construction into hybrid coasters, making them much smoother. Not only that, but they also got redesigned layouts that have modern steel coaster elements such as taller and steeper drops, overbanked turns, and even inversions, while still keeping true to their original designs. Needless to say, these coasters are much more popular as hybrid coasters than they were as wooden coasters. Though some old school Magic Mountain fans weren't too happy when Colossus, a ride that was widely considered to be a pop culture icon due to its appearances in many movies and TV shows, was given this treatment...
  • Saved by the Fans:
    • Whizzer at Six Flags Great America, at first, was going to be replaced with Superman: Ultimate Flight. The overwhelming outcries and its popularity (due to being the only Anton Schwarzkopf Speedracer coaster in the United States) made the park change their minds at the last second, and instead replaced Shockwave.
    • Houdini's Great Escape at Six Flags Great Adventure was closed in 2008 and was likely scheduled to be removed, but it was reopened for Fright Fest in 2010 and eventually for the whole season in 2011 due to overwhelming guest complaints. It has operated on a full season schedule ever since.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
    • What a lot of Six Flags Over Texas purists think about the Spelunker Cave ride getting redone into "Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure" in the early Nineties.
    • Some old school Magic Mountain fans consider Six Flags' decision to RMC Colossus as this.
    • Fans of Thomas & Friends felt this way after the "Thomas Town" lands in their parks were rethemed to the generically train-themed "Whistlestop Park". Didn't help that a lot of the trains in that area still have paint jobs that make it clear they were supposed to be characters from the show.
