• Nightmare Fuel: The Forgotten City. From the mission select menu you can see that it was once a large settlement, home to possibly thousands, now long abandoned due to mistakes made by experimenting with essence, generations ago. With its abandoned structures, the entire place has a resemblance to a far eastern Chernobyl, and it's covered with azure ash and soot, with fissures expelling deadly blasts of blue fire, and at its centre is a huge crater—no doubt all the result of meddling with the Starseed. As Aiko tells it, this is why they kept it so far from anywhere populated. On top of that, the team's entire mood, which is usually so laid back, shifts to be more dour and pensive just from being there.
• Tear Jerker: After getting shipwrecked on a frozen island you come across a large "HELP" sign constructed near the shore, that's already pretty ominous but that's not all. Later, just before the final boss, the group arrive in a makeshift living area deep within the Yokai stronghold, (which any observant audience has deduced by now to be a crashed spaceship) and there on a chair, is a solitary skeleton, a long silent guitar laying next to them... Help never came.
