YMMV / Sarah McLachlan

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: "Adia" contains the lyric "There's no one left to finger." In context, it's somewhat obvious the line is referring to blaming, or pointing the finger at, others, but it's still worded strangely nonetheless.
  • Anvilicious: The video for "World on Fire" is basically one big honkin' anvil about why you should donate to charity instead of making big expensive music videos.
  • Memetic Mutation: Hi, I'm Sarah McLachlan, and I'm about to ruin your WHOLE FUCKING DAY!
  • Nightmare Fuel: "Black" is by far her creepiest song ever.
    • "Possession" is an Obsession Song from the POV of a stalker. Not helped that the lyrics were based on real letters Sarah received. The video itself is pretty creepy too, with numerous reenactments of biblical images, and mysterious shots of Sarah swinging back and forth while wrapped in white cloth.
  • Refrain from Assuming: "Angel" is not called "In the Arms of an/the Angel".
  • Signature Songs: "Angel" and "I Will Remember You", which happen to be two huge Tear Jerkers used in films.
