YMMV / Rikishi

Go To

  • Audience-Alienating Era: The Sultan, "Makin' a difference" Fatu, and heel Rikishi are considered the worst portions of his career.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Prior to his infamous heel turn, Rikishi had gotten massively over with the crowd as a face which is a lot of why said heel turn was so badly advised.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: His initial motivation for running over "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was to remove The Rock’s main competition to being the number one guy in the business, feeling as though the Samoans in wrestling were never truly given the chance to be great. Twenty years later, the next generation of Samoans in the WWE form The Bloodline in order to ruthlessly ensure the main titles of the company stay within The Samoan Dynasty now.
  • Memetic Mutation: "I did it for The Rock, I did it for the people!" Not helped by The Rock's own reaction to it. ("Oh, shut your mouth, you thong-wearing fatty!")
  • Never Live It Down: His confession as the one who ran over Austin and subsequent heel turn destroyed his goodwill with the crowd and effectively ended his push within a couple of months.
  • Squick: The Stinkface. Shoving your ass into your opponent's face. And Rikishi's rear end was enormous.
  • Short-Runner: His short-lived tag team with "Showkishi" After all, who could realistically expect Rikishi (tipping the scales at 400+) to play the Ricky Morton on a team that weighed nearly half a ton.
