YMMV / Right to Censor

Go To

  • Hollywood Homely: For a given view of "homely", anyway. As a member of the group, Ivory wore conservative clothing that resulted in commentators such as Jim Ross declaring her "repressed". Some fans, however, found her looking pretty attractive in he RTC uniform, both because it making her look like a schoolmarm gave her Hot Teacher vibes, and because it was refresingly different in the middle of the Attitude Era where just about every other woman wore skimpy clothing. Heck, whenever any induction involved RTC-era Ivory, WrestleCrap's RD Reynolds would state that he found RTC-era Ivory the hottest she ever looked to him.
  • Memetic Mutation: Since WWE has gone PG in 2008, it has been a common joke among fans that Right to Censor ultimately won in the long run, or to refer to them as WWE's Creative board.
  • Strawman Has a Point: While deliberately written to be pompous, hypocritical killjoys with no redeeming qualities, more than one modern commentator has pointed out that the WWE in their day was directly marketing its product to a young audience while featuring an awful lot of sex and violence against women for the express purpose of invigorating crowds of randy young men, and that they, and the critics they are stand-ins for, had a point that someone probably ought to clean it up.
