- Broken Base: Similar to the controversy after Mordecai accidentally killed Rigby in a fit of rage after the latter kept harassing him and making him jealous in the episode “It’s Time”, some people are divided on who was wrong in this episode:
- On one hand, Rigby cheated during all the arm wrestling matches with Skips and acted like a smug jerk whenever it was brought up, mocking Skips.
- On the other hand, Skips, who is usually the wisest and more mature character in the show, goes nuts over being beaten in arm wrestling to the point that he breaks Mordecai and Rigby‘s video game console, (which screws over Mordecai, who didn’t do anything to him), he wrecks their room looking for anything Rigby could’ve used to cheat, and after Skips exposes Rigby as a cheater, he still forces Rigby to arm wrestle with him without the arm brace he used in their previous games, and ends up throwing Rigby into a table hard enough to break the table and kill him. Even Benson, who can being notoriously petty, is taken aback on how obsessed Skips was over Rigby defeating him.
- Catharsis Factor: Although Skips went overboard, more than a few fans can't help but feel very satisfied to see him (albeit unintentionally) kill Rigby, given how much of a Jerkass the latter has been up until this point (especially in "Do Me a Solid").
