YMMV / Red Lanterns

• Escapist Character: Of a dark variety. The Red Lanterns are, for the most part, a somewhat uncomplicated bunch, and their goal could even be seen as noble — visit suffering on those inflict it and go unpunished. There's just enough ruminations on the nature of rage and the Cycle of Revenge to keep things from feeling mindless, but not so much it sucks the fun out of the story. The fact that they're powered by Unstoppable Rage, and this rage has its root in horrible, terrible things happening to them makes them a lot more sympathetic than a pack of mindless murderhobos probably should be. They can be very enjoyable escapist characters. . . if you don't mind your escapism rooted in Pay Evil unto Evil.
• Moral Event Horizon: Baron Ghazz and Count Liib crossed it when they goad the Sinestro Corps member into attacking Bleez, resulting in the death of her family and her getting raped.
