- Audience-Alienating Premise: The Quintaglio Ascension Trilogy, being allegorical hard sci-fi xenofiction about dinosaurs aimed at adults with no human characters, gives the books an extremely niche appeal and made it difficult for them to even be published.
- Bizarro Episode: For some readers, the chapters narrated by the Precursor who "seeded" other planets with creatures from Earth just because they were lonely are a bit... jarring.
