  • Awesome Music: This game's soundtrack is amazingly fitting for the game's creepy atmosphere, but the theme "Burn me Alive" is one that really pulls a Tear Jerker on you in the Good Ending. Especially the arrange in the credits "This is the End".
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: Randall being unstable and a murderer aren't exactly hard to guess.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Tom saying to Randall "Just need to make sure I didn't let an axe murderer into my house" when they first met.
  • Evil Is Cool: Moth, Randall's Superpowered Evil Side.
  • He's Just Hiding: Many fans don't really believe Randall really died in the Good Ending, considering that he was in a much worse state in the Bad Ending and somehow still survived.
  • Ugly Cute: Randall is plain, has an unkempt appearance and is socially awkward. He's still pretty Adorkable and even Tom acknowledges this in-universe.
  • Tear Jerker: The Good Ending, with Mya surviving the events of the game (at the cost of her neighbors and her sister) and Randall's Redemption Equals Death.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Most of the characters have already or suffer horrible fates. First, Randall suffers a Split-Personality Takeover and murders his love interest Tom. Later on, Mya's sister is killed as well in a depressing Heel–Face Door-Slam moment. Mya is traumatized by the whole ordeal, and depending on the ending she's on the way to recovery or murdered by Randall. And in the end either Randall gets off scot-free or dies in the fire.
  • The Woobie: Poor Randall... later he turns into more of a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds.
