• Rooting for the Empire:
  • It is kind of hard to not like the demons over the Angels in this series. Even though the demons are described as being evil and wanting to take over the world and cause destruction, so far every demon we have seen has shown no interest in that and are at most very mischievous but are otherwise quite nice. On the other hand the Angels tricked the demons out of their land, use Mary to lure demons out of hiding to kill them off screen, and show no regards for any humans that get in the way of going after a demon even if they are children.
  • Bellze on account of saving her servants and being bullied by Lucia.
  • It becomes impossible to avoid sympathizing with the devils after "God" shows up and starts blasting at Yuta's home town with weapons of mass destruction simply because Yuta and Lucia are there together, all while claiming the demons are attacking him, saying there's "No such thing as good demons or bad demons." Even Carmael takes Yuta's side in this. Even more sympathetic? The demons evacuate the town at great risk and expense while "God" doesn't care, and would have blasted innocent, uninvolved civilians to death, en masse saying that was the least painful way to do things.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Many fans are already assuming this when they made Mary, someone who also was born on 6/6/6 at 6:06:06 and was a woman who could have added to Yuta's Unwanted Harem by being the only human woman in the group. Instead made her a guy disguised as a girl and a potential Gay Option.
