YMMV / Pokémon Lost Silver

Go To

  • Broken Base: The fanbase is divided on whether Pokémon Strangled Red or Easter Egg - Snow on Mt. Silver, both fics being treated as prequels to Lost Silver, is the actual prequel to Lost Silver. Reid Maxwell's Easter Egg in Re: Lost Silver that unlocks Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver implies Reid supports the idea that Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver is Lost Silver's prequel, and while Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby features all three creepypastas, it's important to note that Lost Silver is its own week, and that Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver is featured in the Lost Silver week, while Strangled Red is not.
  • I Am Not Shazam: Lots of fanart of this creepypasta will use "Lost Silver" to refer to the main character. The story never refers to the character as such. In-game, the character is named '...', while the narrator calls him 'Gold'. In the fangame, if the player does the Hidden path, then upon completing the normal path, the ending text will change to refer to the character as Gold as well.
  • Nightmare Retardant: There's only so much that can be done with Pokémon Silver graphics, so the game itself isn't that scary. The player is traumatized by little things, such as the screen turning red.
  • Parody Displacement: Many people now associate the Poké Flute theme with this game and see it as more depressing than relaxing. The Unown Radio is also heavily associated with Lost Silver due to its prominence in both the story and the game.
  • Tear Jerker: For many people, the main draw of the creepypasta isn't its creepy imagery, but rather the depressing undertones of the story. Despite all of his accomplishments and his attempts to fight fate, Gold ultimately dies alone and forgotten, alongside his beloved Pokémon.
