* FunnyAneurysmMoment:
** Felix's [[https://youtu.be/hbVUF5b307s video]] on ''Bear Simulator'', which mainly consists of him bad-mouthing the game, became a lot sourer in people's mouths after news got out that [[http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/7/11172514/bear-simulator-kickstarter-update-pewdiepie the developer of the game had decided to quit making games because of "drama" from the game]]. Although Felix claims he must not have been the only factor, and the developer didn't directly mention him, a lot of people still hugely attributed the developer quitting to him.
** Many of Felix's earlier gaming videos and playthroughs became this in light of his "Forced Positivity on [=YouTube=]" video where he explains that he faked much of his enthusiasm because he figured that many people on [=YouTube=] were drawn to positivity, admitting that it was exhausting at times to keep it up, especially with games he didn't enjoy. Needless to say, it made his shying away from gaming content make a lot more sense.
** The "Subscribe to [=PewDiePie=]" meme became a lot less funny when a gunman referenced it right before committing a livestreamed terror attack at a mosque in New Zealand.
** "Congratulations" has a line where Felix says, "I'm 'bout to cause a genocide so you can call me [Hitler]". The song was made in December 2018 and the line mocks comparisons between him and Hitler, but if he had made it after the New Zealand shooting (when it was released), he probably would've avoided references to him causing any type of genocide.

* ParodyDisplacement:
** His ''LWIAY'' series was conceived as an innocent, obvious tongue-in-cheek riff on WebVideo/{{Jacksfilms}}' ''YIAY'' series (what with it being much more awkward to pronounce and all), but due to his version reaching a wider audience, there was a notable period of time where many of his fans were legitimately mad at Jack for "stealing" Felix's idea, and the two of them had to publicly clear the air.
** Pewds' cover of "Hej Hej Monika" is going to make the song more likely known as some kind of DDLC parody song rather than a one-hit-wonder from 2004. His cover not only dwarfs an earlier posting of the song by almost 9X, but the WebAnimation/KizunaAI channel did a cover of the song, outright saying it was inspired by ''Felix''.

After bringing the subject to the forum "Is this an example?" as advised by Ferot_Dreadnaught, the trope entry does not explain how this is an anvil (as pointed out by a user in the discussion) and it potentially doesn't really count given that it's a vlog and not a story, and quite frankly comes off more as gushing about the video itself. The entry has been taken down for this reason.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5QWUOAcg_Q His video]] discussing the impact on how many seemingly innocent memes and hand gestures were slowly turned into hate symbols by the mainstream media. He concluded that the only reason things go on as it is now is that the intended target (the concerned individuals and the media) are feeding the trolls with the outrage and start accusing people who did the gesture innocently, and as such, a minority of actual white supremacist start using it for dogwhistling because the outrage indirectly helps them to get a stronger holding. Pewds ends the video by suggesting that everyone shouldn't be very upset about such shenanigans and accusing people of signaling hate, while at the same time not acting like a troll and spamming the symbol to garner hate and outrage.

Improper indentation, the controversy in question occurred before he released his video on hate symbols, the ADL has been criticized by both right and left-wing groups, not just "far-right" ones, and the German Iron cross isn't generally considered a hate symbol, which can be argued to support his point.

** Unfortunately in one of his videos released after he withdrew a donation to the ADL due to backlash he received from far-right groups, he wore a German Iron cross which was taken as an attempt to subtly appeal to them when addressing his actions, making his message ring hollow to many outside his fanbase.
