• Values Dissonance: The Happy Ending Override in the Downer Beginning had this reaction from a couple of readers who thinks that Ren doesn't deserve that from his hometown since his innocence has already been proven. The author clearly stated in the first chapter and their replies that western values don't translate to Persona 5 being set in Japan and how Persona 5 focuses on deconstructing Japanese societal pressure and issues, and as such portray how bad an idea it was for Ren to just up and go back to his hometown. Other readers are more understanding in contrast.
