- Alternate Character Interpretation: Oscar. Is he only trying to survive in the desert or is he a Villain Protagonist who loves stealing things from other animals in the show?
- The trio. Are they really out to bully Oscar or are they simply trying to survive in the desert? Also, would Harchi and Buck be decent guys if Popy wasn't there to boss them around?
- Ho Yay: Harchi and Buck can be seen tangoing together in "Amazing Chicken".
- Rooting for the Empire: Many viewers just watch it more for the trio than for Oscar.
- Special Effects Failure: The animation is actually really good for a TV series, but a few glitches sometimes show up. One particularly bad example is the episode Beach Dream, where Popy and Buck getting dragged through the sand has them visibly clipping through the ground, without any sort of dust cloud effect to mask it, either.
