Oscar joined Popy's gang after the end of the series
- Think about it: they all share a common goal: Getting food to survive. Oscar had to go through a hazing ritual to be accepted into Popy's gang. Besides, in a few episodes, Oscar is shown getting along with Harchi and Buck implying that if they weren't rivals, they could hit it off as good friends.
Harchi was abandoned as a cub
- Think about it. Harchi is a hyena living in the desert. His clan decided not to kill him and just abandoned him because he was born ill. Popy and Buck took him in and cared for him because he wouldn't leave them alone. The episode Lost makes even more sense because of Harchi's separation anxiety problems. He cried his eyes out and begged Oscar not to leave him alone implying abandonment issues.
Everything is a hallucination of Harchi's
- A darker alternative to the previous WMG, Harchi was abandoned as a cub and everything is a dying hallucination of his. Popy and Buck are only imaginary friends of his and everything is the dream of a dying, abandoned scared little hyena cub who dreams of being a big, strong adult and having friends who love him.
Harchi fell off or missed his circus wagon and became stranded in the desert
- Which explains his juggling skills and dancing, he used to be a circus performer before meeting up with Popy and Buck.
Panic was Popy's husband and he died
- Popy was married to Panic but he was one day killed by the crocodiles. Popy took over his position as leader of the trio. Popy's anger is her own way of mourning Panic's death.
Popy is Panic after a sex change operation
- Panic felt like he always wanted to be female, went under the knife and became Popy
Panic is Popy's father
- Popy is just taking over her dad's role as leader of the trio.

Oscar secretly WANTS to be part of Popy's gang
The series takes place in the African desert
- Explains Popy's presence, since she is a fennec fox. Manolo could be from Mexico but moved to Africa with Roco. Factor in the theory of Harchi being abandoned or an escaped circus animal and the series makes so much more sense. Gecko's and vultures probably live in the African desert as well so Oscar and Buck might be native.
Oscar is Scrat reincarnated as a lizard
Popy is an escaped exotic pet.
- It does explain why she seems to know quite a bit about human stuff, like how to use a cell phone, or sports like tennis and bowling.
- It would also explain why she acts like such a princess; perhaps she was abandoned or lost rather than escaped.
