  • Goddamned Bats: Pests, which are cross-hair like enemies present in certain rooms. While they cannot harm Amp, they will travel around the room deactivating lit nodes, making it harder to light up the room. They are only killed when the room is fully lit up... or if Amp runs into them with the Spike upgrade.
  • Scrappy Mechanic:
    • Uncleared rooms will instantly reset themselves if you take so much as half a step into another room. This can be very frustrating since you'll now have to redo the whole thing due to a split-second mistake. Especially annoying in single rooms that are split into multiple sections. (Happily, once a room is cleared, it remains cleared forever.)
    • It's generally impossible to tell where the exits are in a room when it's dark. Have fun falling down pits you couldn't have known existed!
    • In some areas, falling down a pit means taking a roundabout route to get back to where you were, just for another chance at the jump you messed up. This is an especially big problem with the Infinite room: fall down there, and you'll have to traverse the entire map just to have another chance, a trip that can easily take ten minutes!
