• Complete Monster: King Sombra starts his conquest of Equestria by tricking Luna into killing her sister and the Mane Six before moving onto the Crystal Empire and brutally murdering all who stand in his way, including Princess Cadence and Shining Armor. Deciding to test out an arena he intends to use to celebrate his conquest of Equestria, he forces Sunburst to fight a mind-controlled Starlight Glimmer and, when Starlight snaps out of his control, he impales Sunburst and painfully forces Starlight back under his control before siccing her and the rest of his mind-controlled forces on Sunburst.
• Critical Dissonance: By the author's own request, he had the story reviewed. While the review as abysmal, the story itself has more likes than dislikes and over 1000 views.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Nightmare Moon's quip about "it's a girl" after bursting out of Tirek's chest and killing him.
• It Was His Sled: Due to the familiar beats between this and Old Man Logan, some twists can be seen a mile away.
• Moral Event Horizon: King Sombra crossed it by making Luna kill her sister, Star-Swirl, and the Mane Six.
• Narm: BrayStation. The idea that a PlayStation Expy exists in a post-apocalyptic world like this can be a little difficult to swallow.
• Padding: This story had something Old Man Logan didn't have. An actual resistance that saves the good guys from being executed. However, that resulted in the story dragging on longer than it needed to be.
