YMMV / Nyanpire: The Animation

• Americans Hate Tingle: This series had a very cold reception in the USA (It's one of the of the most underrated shows on Anime News Network.) The quirky nature of the show and the facts that's it happened to be one of those kiddy shows with gore and explicit (by American standards, at least.) are probably one of the biggest reasons.
• Ho Yay: Between Nyanpire and Masamunya◊ in episode 2.◊ Yes, you heard that right.
  • Nyanpire eagerly sucking Nyantenshi's blood in episode 3◊ certainly counts, especially since Nyantenshi's only reason for letting him do it is to make Masamunya jealous.◊
  • After Masamunya see's Nyanpire sucking Nyatenshi's blood. He begs Nyanpire to suck his blood, until he tells him that he's fool from all the blood that he sucked from Nyatenshi. Which shocks Masamunya while Nyatenshi smirks at Masamunya.◊
  • However he does suck Masamunya's blood in a later episode.◊
  • The final line of the series is Nyantenshi asking if Nyanpire is confessing to him after saying he loves all his friends.
• Lying Creator: In Episode 1's Opening Narration, Nyanpire is clearly stated to be female.
• Moe: Chachamaru is a rare male example, Chachamaru is the youngest out of all the characters in the series. This might be the main reason why alot of people would mistaken him as a female. Doesn't help that he wears a large pink bow.
• Quirky Work: An abandoned cat is found when an actual vampire decides to give the cat his own blood. Which resulted in turning it into a vampire cat named Nyanpire and loved strawberries. Nyanpire later gets adopted and lives with an actual living kitten named Chachamaru. He also made friends with a Samurai cat called Masamunya and an angel cat named Nyatenshi. Masamunya also has a secret crush on him and Nyatenshi would sometimes start flirting with Nyanpire and making Masamunya jealous.
• Tear Jerker: The final episode. Poor Nyanpire realizes he'll eventually outlive all his friends, and decides to leave. But comes back in the end, and decides to enjoy the time with his friends anyway.
• Viewer Gender Confusion:
  • Nyatenshi is actually a guy, despite that some people might mistaken him as a female due to his voice and his suggestive theme.
  • When people first see Chachamaru they at first think he's a girl. Chachamaru is actually a guy, but the reason people confuse him as a girl might be because he wear's a huge pink ribbon around his neck and sounds like a young girl. Doesn't help that he is also a kitten and the youngest of the main cast.
