  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Now on its own page.
  • Broken Base: In this story, while having their cavities filled by another dentist in a much less painful way than their normal one, the submitter discovers that the company dentist who gave them the same care a few years earlier deliberately did a poor job as part of an insurance fraud scheme. The submitter and their former coworkers (who reported the same abuse) then attempted to take legal action against this company dentist, only for the COVID-19 outbreak to happen, where the company dentist caught the disease and died before anything could happen on the legal front. Several comments were appalled by the last sentence of the story ("The running joke between all of us later was that the disease was a kill stealer"), pointing out rejoicing about or making fun of someone's death was really poor form, while others argued that the now deceased dentist doesn't deserve sympathy because of how many people he'd wronged, regardless of formalities.
  • Values Dissonance: Discussed in this story of a Spaniard injured while on a business trip in the USA, but the American health system refusing to give him a necessary surgery because they aren't sure the company will pay, even with the CFO personally making sure payments will occur. The CFO gets the submitter back to his home country, where the submitter got the required surgery within 24 hours and paying less than "a lunch for two" for everything. The submitter marvels at the difference between the health care system of America and the Public Health Care system of Spain.
