YMMV / Nonno Felice

Go To

  • Moe: The twins may be annoying brats at times, but they are still quite cute little girls in their own identical way.
  • Narm: Some of the scenes are ruined by the bad acting of the children's characters, especially the twins (Bramieri's acting is always on point though). In "È di Nuovo Primavera", one of the twins was blatantly laughing in a scene where she was supposed to cry.
  • Narm Charm: Despite the Values Dissonance, less than stellar jokes, and all the typical sappy Dom Com scenes, Gino Bramieri was still a great actor who carried the show very well. His natural charisma made him likable, even if his character was not exactly a role model.
  • Values Dissonance: Even by the standards of the '90s, this show didn't age well at all, due to the main character being a Politically Incorrect Hero in a family-friendly Dom Com, as some reviews point out (see here and here)
    • Felice always takes his grandchildren's side, often encouraging their questionable behavior, even against their parents' wishes.
    • He is blatantly sexist and is never called out on it. It's not a coincidence that a few years later, the other Grandpa that became famous in Italian TV (Grandpa Libero in Un Medico In Famiglia) is much more politically correct and never makes questionable jokes.
    • The episodes "Una Domenica Movimentata" and "Faccetta Nera" have many racist jokes, despite the Prejudice Aesop in both of them. Just to give you an idea, in "Faccetta Nera", the twins try to "clean" a black guy with a tissue and are disappointed because "the color doesn't come off". Granted, they are supposed to be ignorant children and by the end, all the family becomes supportive of the black guy, but still.
