YMMV / NonPack

Go To

  • Creepy Awesome:
    • Honey may be a terrifying killer, but make no mistake, he's by far one of Nonpack's most iconic antagonists due to his Rasputin-like abilities such as being able to survive poison he snorted, conduct bees to go after Karen, and survive a building explosion.
    • Karen after Goset temporarily turns her into a monster.
  • Cry for the Devil: While Honey was a hardened killer who almost killed Karen, some viewers began to pity him after his death due to bits and pieces of his Dark and Troubled Past revealed in and out of the comic since it’s revealed he was a soldier whose brother was killed in war…and what really makes it sting is that outside of the comic, he saw his brother killed right in front of him.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Surprisingly, Marcel actually does have a few fans who swoon over him despite being a Fat Bastard which counts as Truth in Television for some given Marcel's influence in the criminal world (money and power, particularly). It helps that he's a Magnificent Bastard who knows how to pull the strings.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Depending on who you are, Shara's little comment in issue #0 about the horrific things they'll go through as a family comes off as this given that she gets mugged and later held at gunpoint, and the first of the Satos to (seemingly) die just so happens to be Yuki, her older brother. Then again, that's probably the point.
  • He's Just Hiding: In issue #1, some theorize that Yuki was never killed by Marcel in the finale, especially since there's no proof that he was actually shot anywhere that would have killed him instantly. This is later confirmed; Marcel is holding him hostage and having him beaten repeatedly.
  • Moe: Shara; many fans love the character simply for how adorable she is and hate seeing her put in harm's way. It helps that she’s the runt of the group.
  • Obvious Judas: During issue #1, Marcel was this to anyone who read Issue #0, since it literally states that Marcel is a cruel sadist who uses orphans to do his bidding, so really it's no surprise that he had been double-crossing the Satos by working with Honey the entire time, and especially no surprise when he holds Shara at gunpoint to keep the Satos on a leash given his aforementioned sadism...not to mention, he's a gangster pig who casually beat them up for supposedly "losing" the money.
  • Unexpected Character: "Icedog", a X-men like character Rangy created when she was a kid that was only recognizeable by those who saw Rangy's "Bleu Book" art dump on Patreon, showed up as a cameo in the second comic; granted, he was a Sacrificial Lamb, but it was still a surprise for many.
