• Base-Breaking Character:
  • He Tian faced opposition from certain people due to his predatory behavior towards Jian Yi and bullying of Mo Guan Shan, such as forcing a kiss on him. Other readers absolutely loved him from the start as they found his presence in the story entertaining and precisely because he was a bad boy character. The negativity around him has largely died out as he has become more sympathetic.
  • Zi Xi, Zheng Xi's little sister has a lot of haters for being a Moment Killer towards the Zheng Xi/Jian Yi ship although she is justified in acting the way she does considering how bizarre Jian Yi tends to act. Others have no problem with her and believe the utter repulsion some have for her makes no sense - even the author has called out how ridiculous the hate was getting.
• Broken Base: Over whether the story should focus strictly on Jian Yi/Zheng Xi or allow He Tian/Guan Shan to get some of the focus. The two couples both have nicknames in regards to their positions in the plot: "main gays" for Jian Yi/Zheng Xi and "side gays" for He Tian/Guan Shan.
• Friendly Fandoms: With Their Story. Tan Jiu and Old Xian are friends who work at the same company. Their manhua are being translated by the same group and the two have had a series of unofficial crossovers. They are even considered gender-inverted counterparts to each other.
• Jerkass Dissonance: He Tian was relatively popular even before he had shown any traces of being a genuinely good person.
• The Woobie: Jian Yi suffers from Parental Abandonment and his only friend is Zheng Xi.
