Nelson's impression of Nick Nolte is a popular running gag on RiffTrax, and given his history of doing celebrity impersonations on MST3K prior to becoming the full-time host, it would have been a fitting Christmas surprise to have him return to his roots in this episode as "Friar Nolte".
  • To be fair, Mike has consistently turned down chances to be involved with the reboot and Patton is also known for his Nick Nolte impression.
