• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: As it turns out, Sombra is this. After his sudden appearance and defeat courtesy of the Mane Six, the fic proceeds with the game's plot as usual and he is never brought up again.
• Anti-Climax Boss: Sombra. After revealing that he is the mastermind behind teleporting the Mane 6 to Arkham City and that his goal is to control the Elements of Harmony, he's defeated rather quickly in his single appearance.
• Ass Pull: It's established that Hugo Strange was responsible for teleporting the Mane 6 to the Arkham City universe and putting Equestria into a dying state. After Batman confronts Strange at the Wonder Tower, King Sombra appears and reveals that he was responsible for giving Strange the ability to do so in the first place. This comes out of nowhere and wasn't foreshadowed at all in any of the previous chapters.
