My Little Arkham is a My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic/Batman: Arkham City Crossover Fic. The Mane 6 and the Elements of Harmony are somehow taken out of Equestria and captured by Hugo Strange, before being separated and sent into Arkham City. Now, trapped and separated in a city-wide prison they must reunite, find a way to recover the Elements from Strange, and discover how to return home, all the while struggling to survive the freezing temperature and gang wars that plague Arkham City. It can be read here

A fan-written side story of what happens in Batman: Arkham City from the POV of the Mane Six. It focuses on their struggle for survival and to return home, as well as eventually joining forces with the Caped Crusader. Rated T for some violence and language, but nothing that doesn't happen in the game.

It has a great deal of detail in the descriptions and the emotional aspects of the six ponies' struggle. Their portrayal is also kept faithful to the original series, as no matter what horrors they find in this megaprison, they try to not only survive them, but to also do it without losing themselves and without forgetting their friendship.

My Little Arkham contains examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: The chapter "Trouble at Home" shows us how the other characters in Equestria are reacting to the disappearance of the Mane Six.
  • And the Adventure Continues: After returning to Equestria, Rainbow Dash, inspired by Batman, decides to become Equestria's answer to him.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Mr. Freeze. Fluttershy allows him a new life in Equestria with a healthy Nora, free from his burdens. Although he's now a pony, he doesn't care. As long as he has Nora, he is happy.
  • In Spite of a Nail: While there are a couple changes, the fic's plot is the same as the original game. One known criticism is that the ponies are shoved into the background while Batman does most of the work, making the vast majority of the fic seem more like a novelization with MLP slapped on. Also see The Stations of the Canon.
  • Knight Templar: We still have the canon ones from Batman: Arkham City, but a surprising one turns out to be Sombra. From his point of view, the slavery of the crystal ponies was necessary to create a world in which all ponies are equals.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: It's clear and obvious that splitting up is the last thing the mane six want to do, but circumstances and time restraints continuously force them to. All six of them don't even get together until over halfway through the story.
  • Mythology Gag: When Rainbow Dash becomes Equestria's Batman and beats some thugs, she delivers one of the most iconic lines ever:
  • Secret-Keeper: The ponies become this to Batman after finding out that he's Bruce Wayne.
  • The Stations of the Canon: Played with in some cases, but it overall follows this trope religiously. While some of the game's events are skipped over with Batman explaining to the ponies what happened, the events that do happen onscreen occur exactly like they did in canon with next to no changes, down to the lines of dialogue.
    • This reaches a ridiculous extreme when Sombra makes his appearance after Batman confronts Strange at the Wonder Tower. Batman freezes Sombra in a block of ice and the canon events happen like usual, including Strange getting fatally stabbed by Ra's. After Sombra breaks out, neither Batman nor Ra's intervene in any way while the Mane Six deal with him. After Sombra is thrown into the Mane Six's portal, the story picks up right where the game left off with next to no changes whatsoever, with Ra's giving Batman the opportunity to work with him, Strange activating Protocol 11, and Ra's plunging his sword into his own chest and being impaled on the Arkham sign.
  • Too Funny to Be Evil: Pinkie has a hard time believing that anyone with a name like The Joker could possibly be as evil as described.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Played with. Just about every person takes notice of the small, colourful talking ponies whenever they first see them, but most reactions are still nowhere near as big as you'd expect.
