• Complete Monster: Alexander is a sinister, seemingly wealthy man who organizes the titular "Murder Party" that lures in Chris Hawley, before taking him hostage. Alexander then asserts his dominance over the group of artists present and instructs them how to murder Christopher in a group effort. As the night goes on, Alexander plays sadistic mind games with the group and eventually reveals he's just a fry cook named Tim who planned to trick them all into committing a gruesome murder before killing all of them to steal their artwork and make it more valuable to sell when they were all dead. He immediately attempts to kill everyone present following this revelation.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Let's see, a charismatic sociopath who is knowledgeable about Edgar Allan Poe and is able to inexplicably enthrall a group of wannabe serial killers who try to orchestrate their crimes as works of art? This is the best episode of The Following ever! This movie even has the extra bonus of mercilessly tearing apart the modus operandi of the Big Bad of The Following, showing how fast plans would fall apart due to their incompetency and how the wannabe killers aren't blinded by their devotion to the designated Diabolical Mastermind Alexander and gradually discover that he's really just a pretentious Big Bad Wannabe.
• Moral Event Horizon:
  • Alexander revealing that he's planning on murdering all of the artists after they murder Chris so he can make a lot of money on their art.
  • Zycho dropping the N-word into casual speech, indicating that even among a cast of would-be murderers, he's definitely a capital-V Villain.
  • Bill actually going on a murder rampage.
