- Narm Charm: As ludicrous as everything about the show is — the failed attempts at drama, the janky and sometimes-contradictory improvised exposition, the increasingly wild mythology (up to and including Sasquatch that can summon lightning and psychically possess their human victims), and the very concept of a bunch of armed mountain boys hunting down cryptids in a electric cart — that's also what makes it so charming. Seanbaby and Robert Brockway started a recap podcast with Jason Pargin, Bigfeets, as a spinoff of 1-900-HOTDOG simply because they loved talking about the series so much.Brockway: Maybe most supernatural reality monster-hunting shows [try to present themselves as legitimate], but Mountain Monsters is, like... they've moved beyond fleecing Bigfoot lunatics and into professional wrestling territory? Like, as redneck monster kayfabe?
Seanbaby: It's like a supernatural soap opera, but with untrained actors and no plot structure. - Squick: Quite a few times, there are some gross moments.
- In one episode, Trapper gets peed in the face by the Sheepsquatch.
- At one point, Trapper kisses a severed deer's head the Dustman mounted on a stick, resulting in Buck vomiting.
- The sight of a possessed Huckleberry, buck naked and hugging a totem pole, is something the boys would rather not see.
