  • Covered Up: Country fans who aren't also fans of jazz and/or aren't Canadian will probably recognize "Home" only through Blake Shelton's cover.
  • Funny Moments:
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Outside Canada, he's very recognizable in the UK and Australia, especially through his Christmas album, which has consistently been on the top of Australian music charts every year since its release.
  • He Really Can Act: The two times he was a musical guest on SNL, he participated in a sketch, and was quite funny in both of them.
  • Ho Yay: His cover of "Santa Baby" where he tries to change the lyrics to not be sexual, with wording like "Santa buddy" and "I'll wait up for you dude." Despite his attempts, it still sounds very sexually charged, and the parts that were changed just sound like he's desperately trying to hide his attraction to Santa, resulting in the nickname "No Homo Santa".
  • Hype Backlash: He's not too popular among purist fans of other traditional pop singers, who consider him a poor man's Frank Sinatra.
  • Memetic Mutation: A running joke in the UK is that he comes out of hibernation every Christmas to make a new album, due to the prevalence of his songs on the radio at that time (it should be noted he only has one Christmas album).
  • Retroactive Recognition: When watching the music video for his and Idina Menzel's cover of "Baby It's Cold Outside", fans of House of the Dragon might be surprised to see pre-adolescents Emily Carey (young Alicent) and Harry Collett (present-day Jacaerys) as a Toy Ship before they became better known for their appearance in that series. There's some wistful hilarity in seeing Rhaenyra's son essentially playing suit with a younger version of his stepgrandmother—especially when they're already Feuding Families by then.
