* SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel: Love the show or not you have to got admit there are some moments in the show that can give you a warm and happy feeling. The soundtrack most of the time is also very laid back and gives you a feeling like you're home.

** Max's wide variety of [[http://maxandruby.treehousetv.com/content/assets/en-ca/characters/max/max2.png facial expressions]], which come across as rather devious for a cartoon character.

* BrokenBase: When the show is brought up, expect people to take sides between the two title characters and fight to the death. Max is generally the one most people root for, but Ruby has a strong fanbase too.

* UncannyValley:
** The bunnies seen in the episodes in Bunningham Palace look a little off. Especially when the queen briefly shows up.
** The grandmother just has a rather...''uncomfortable'' vibe about her, it doesn't help that she's the '''[[NonStandardCharacterDesign only]]''' [[NonStandardCharacterDesign character with colored eyes.]]
** The "look" and animation of Max and some of the smaller rabbits can be odd. While Ruby and older characters have a more or less "normal" look to their bodies, Max and younger characters are basically dragging their butts on the ground when they walk. In fact, Max' legs often look like they're attached at his ''waist'' rather than his hips.
** Auditory example: for people who grew up on the older seasons where Max had a limited vocabulary, hearing him speak full sentences as of Season 6 can be very off-putting.

* {{Blooper}}: Once, during "Ruby's Birthday Party", Martha's voice actress, Creator/TabithaStGermain was having too much fun that she accidentally dropped her high pitched voice to her normal voice.

* OlderThanTheyThink: Before the Nelvana animated series, ''Weston Woods Studios'' made two animated direct-to-video adaptations of the "Max & Ruby" series for ''Scholastic Storybook Treasures''. The first was ''Max's Christmas'' released in 1988, and ''Max's Chocolate Chicken'' which was adapted in 1991.

* DuelingWorks: With ''WesternAnimation/Animaniacs2020''. ''Max and Ruby'' is easily mocked by the internet due to Ruby being a jerk and not being the best example of an older sibling. ''Animaniacs'' easily wins because Yakko, Wakko, and Dot do a much better job of working together as siblings/best friends, and are considered one of the best cartoon characters of all time.

* WhereTheHellIsSpringfield: It is never exactly stated where Eastbunny Hop, the setting of the show is located. Even though a parallel universe it is shown that there are real life cities within the universe in the same way as ours.

* Blooper: Once, during "Ruby's Birthday Party", Martha's voice actress, Tabitha St Germain was having too much fun that she accidentally dropped her high pitched voice to her normal voice.

* EarWorm: The theme song. Admit it: after all these years it's ''still'' stuck in your head.

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming:
** The ending to the episode "Goodnight Max" where it ends with Max falling asleep while wishing goodnight to Walky Talky Bear with it replying to Max's comment.
** A sweeter ending similar to that episode is "Max's Rubber Elephant" where Max finally founds his toy elephant under a pile of stuff Ruby put on Max's bed. Before Max leaves his room to sleep in his sister's bed, he looks back and says "Goodnight Ruby" in a sincere tone. This moment shows that despite messing with his sister most of the time, he really cares about Ruby.
