- Ass Pull: Lou finishing and answering the question right at the bell should've been accepted rather than her being penalized for it. Had she maybe answered incorrectly by mistake and then corrected herself, it would have been more acceptable that the team lost the Mathalon.
- Critical Dissonance: The critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes is 61%, making it barely Fresh, while the audience reception is much higher at 92%.
- Fridge Brilliance: As much as the other Mathlete team made fun of Lou for choking and having stage fright—and not being gracious winners when they retain their championship either—none of them get a world famous popstar as their new stepmother, now do they?
