Complete Monster: Rei Kurorogi, using the container body of Kaito Makabe, kidnaps ten female scientists, and knowing one has an ability for him to become a god, perversely experimenting on her and horrifically mutilates the others. Creating two Artificial Human children, Kurorogi as Makabe subjects them to torturous abuse, killing one and driving the other to destroy multiple parallel Earths to ultimately kill himself and escape his creator. Kurorogi also uses the identity of Sou Shirokane to manipulate his brilliant son into becoming an unstable demon that almost destroys Tokyo. Ascending to godhood, Kurorogi attempts to obliterate all life when the heroes oppose him, and after his initial defeat, takes control of the King, the Earth's will, for his revenge. Creating Magical Girl Site, Kurorogi drives anguished teenage girls to complete despair, with the intent to cause the apocalyptic Tempest and assume supreme rule over humanity.
Akuta the psychotic cop is extremely popular due to his countless awesome moments. His appearance in Magical Girl Site was welcome with open arms.

Nightmare Fuel: Many of the deaths in the manga are graphic and horrifying.
In Volume 1, the group find themselves in a dense fog. While walking through said fog, two of their own get their heads cut off, leading the others to realize the fog is being made by a Magical Girl who uses it for stealth kills. When they finally get out of the fog, the Magical Girl sticks her head out of it, giving the reader a delightful sight of her face, which is frozen in a permanent Slasher Smile, with a mouth full of rotten teeth, behind which is a great big eyeball.
They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Many interesting characters are introduced in such a way that they seem like they'll be important, only for them to get killed off within a few chapters.
What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: The blood and gore alongside its dark mood would cause many to see this manga series as seinen, but in reality, the series ran in a Shōnen magazine (the same goes for the author's other work).
The Woobie: Sayano counts since not only she, like presumably all others, lost her family and friends during the attack of the Magical Girls; she saw her best friend being gruesomely murdered, three guys attempted to rape her when she gets sent back in time, the person she loved since she was a child is not interested and Tsukune forced her to act like a bully for years, to gain Kii's sympathy. No wonder that at one point she attempts to sacrifice her life to save Kii, her loved one.
