- Fridge Brilliance: The pastel colors and simplistic design weren't just a design choice, as it's explained in the introduction that the world lost many of its colors due to a Heroic Sacrifice on the King of Doodle's part.
- Narm Charm: The voice acting in the game is solidly So Bad, It's Good where nearly everyone has weird inflections and yells their lines.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- The Boss Rush at the end. You fight a bunch of disturbing looking doodles who are far more eldritch than any opponent you have fought before. Not to mention they all speak with eerie distorted voices.
- Zoe getting shot by the main villain.
- Play the Game, Skip the Story: The story is hard to follow due to the characters and world not always being well explained, especially near the end where several big plot points are dropped right after another and without much explanation. The gameplay though is strong, with designing the right doodle being incredibly engaging and synching up well with the simple but fun combat system.
