  • Fandom Rivalry:
    • With Eminem fans, thanks to their highly publicized feud.
    • With Slipknot fans after MGK revealed that Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor "refused" to do a feature on "Tickets to My Downfall". This was amplified when it was revealed that MGK seemed to have manipulate the information to make it sound like Corey recorded a feature but MGK refused to use it on the basis that he thought it sounded bad, only for Corey to then release a back-and-forth email between him and producer Travis Barker which showed that Corey was asked to do a feature first, but politely declined on the basis that he felt his vocal style wasn't the right fit.
  • Memetic Loser: Became one upon Eminem releasing "Killshot". A recurring joke that Eminem's fans (and fans of other bands he'd have beef with) gleefully ran with was that the diss track damaged MGK's reputation in hip-hop so badly that he had to switch to rock.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: He's arguably better known for his beefs with Eminem and Corey Taylor, and for his rather silly gothic affirmations of love for his wife Megan Fox, than for any of his actual music or acting. Even after all that, he more or less has developed a reputation for constantly running his mouth and starting beef in general.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: The members of Fall Out Boy were added to the writing credits of "Body Bag" (with YUNGBLUD and Bert McCracken) after the similarities to "Dance Dance" were recognised.
