- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Dr Alex in the fourth season. He has become rather popular with the British public because of his Nice Guy personality, and being unable to get with someone.
- Paul Danan in the initial run, for precisely the opposite reason. His behavior on the show led to him being a minor hate figure/punchline in British culture...and consequently to his return in series two, and a legitimate career boost outlasting the original show.
- Follow the Leader: Good luck talking about Love Island without mentioning Big Brother.
- Harsher in Hindsight: The series received a lot of backlash following the suicides of Caroline Flack, Sophie Gradon, and Mike Thalassitis, and Niall Aslam's hospitalisation.
