- Most of the fashion is casual timeless Malaysian dress, but some women have '80s Hair and some young men wear Elvis Presley quiffs and leather jackets.
- Values Dissonance: Lat's dad giving him a brutal slap as punishment for stealing tin from a factory can be considered quite harsh for those who don't condone corporal punishment. So, in recent editions, this part has been redrawn and Lat's dad is instead just shown chasing him throughout the village.
