  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • One scene has Chester, due to some very poor wording on his part, end up being mistaken for a pedophile/pervert. In Rodney Dangerfield's next film project, the "mistaken for" would be all but absent.
    • The movie's plot of a guy disguising his stepson as a girl to become the star player of a female sports team would be taken a lot differently today due to the current controversies over transgender athletes competing as their expressed gender.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The scene where Matthew is running back and forth Clark Kenting between himself and Martha, he runs past Chester who asks himself: "What is this, a drag race?"
    • This isn't the last time a ladybug played soccer.
  • Values Dissonance: Besides the obvious values dissonance in the premise, there is a scene where one of the Ladybug moms decides to celebrate a victory by taking the girls skinny-dipping, and according to Matthew, the only way to get out of it is to have your own mother show up to take you home. This would probably not fly nowadays.
