YMMV / Lady In White

Go To

The Fanfic

  • Tear Jerker: Pretty much all of Lady in White, as the now-immortal and unaging Elsa has come back to Arendelle to say goodbye to an elderly Anna on her deathbed, while Anna’s son/Elsa’s nephew has no idea that Elsa is his aunt and thinks of her as a distant spirit.

The Film

  • Memetic Molester: Aside from Phil, who is an actual child molester, there’s Amanda Harper, who (although she fortunately doesn’t have any sexual interest in Frankie), nonetheless spies into his bedroom window at night when he’s in bed, and is far too touchy-feely with him despite being basically a stranger to him. (Of course, in the former instance, it’s actually Melissa she’s watching, but still.)
  • Spiritual Adaptation: A writer who, as an adult, narrates a story from his childhood, when he was a storyteller, which involves him having lost a family member in the backstory, complete with a flashback to the funeral. Sounds a lot like Stand by Me, only with supernatural elements.
  • Squick: The archery scene where Phil is very obviously lusting after Frankie.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Though his identity is revealed, we still don't know very much about the killer, Phil Terragrossa and if his motivations for killing are sexual or otherwise. He isn't much more than a background character for most of the film and is killed off shortly after The Reveal.
