• Captain Obvious Reveal: Alouette turning out to be the Maiden of Light and Croix turning out to be the Dark Prince. The game does such a poor job of keeping this a secret that in the LP archive Let's Play of the game, which depicts the plot as Prier telling a story of the game's events to the cast of the original Disgaea, Laharl figures it out and tries to say it, but Prier stops him.
• Heartwarming Moments: On the path to the Good Ending for the Overlord Path, Alouette congratulates Priere for not losing her 'heart of light' and still refers to her as 'Sister Priere' despite Priere transforming into a demon.
• Moe: Culotte is very adorable.
• Moral Event Horizon: Noir all around acts far more cruel in the Overlord Prier storyline, but he really crosses it in the Bad Endings, where he kills Croix right in front of Prier.
