- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The Fun with Subtitles scene is a one-off joke that doesn't appear again.
- One of the background extras is seen wearing a re-enactor grade 16th century farthingale dress, and she never appears again after that scene.
- Catharsis Factor: The moment where the Demon is banished by Joe singing the same song that he had been shamed for at the beginning of the movie.
- Cut Lex Luthor a Check: At points it seems like the movie bends over backwards to make the role-players come across as losers who are social and economic dead-ends (before they Took a Level in Badass while facing down an accidentally-summoned Demon, by the way), while in reality Eric, Hung, and Joe could have gone into viable careers that matched their interests, such as setting up a role-playing store, branching out into HEMA (and Eric was already selling HEMA-grade weapons), or making their own Renaissance Fair (which Joe could have been hired as a Bard for, and Gunther could have been hired as a Knight for).
- Hate Sink: The rednecks who show up and start shooting paintball guns at roleplayers unprovoked.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Eric's obsession with levelling up, and his ignorance of what the book he possesses actually is, makes him single-handedly responsible for all of the deaths that happen in the film (including his own friends Lando, Hung, and Ronny).
