YMMV / Kirby Behind The Scenes

Go To

  • Fridge Brilliance: Drawcia, Paintra and Claycia are triplets here. This does have some basis in canon, at least for Drawcia and Paintra: it’s stated that Drawcia and Paintra were “separated at birth”. It doesn’t state whose birth, so one could be excused for assuming they’re twins in canon.
  • Fridge Horror: It’s stated that Dedede was questioning why he and Drawcia were fighting, and that this determined him to make the decision to capture Drawcia alive, so he could find out her motive. Unfortunately, in the pre-reboot version, Kirby killed Drawcia. Which brings the question: did the same thing happen in canon as well?
    • For that matter, while it’s possible Drawcia is the first antagonist in canon to subvert being a Generic Doomsday Villain, she’s not the last one. What about Sectonia? Or President Haltmann? Were the true cause of their deaths Kirby undergoing the Jerkass Ball and refusing to think there’s deeper things at work? The fact that he death-glares both Sectonia and President Haltmann does imply this.
    • As noted at Harsher In Hindsight below, Dededeman confirming Paintra exists in his universe with very close bond to Drawcia makes one wonder how Paintra reacted to the whole thing…
      • Dededeman revealed some information that turned the situation into more of a Tearjerker for Drawcia than it already was. Paintra at least had Claycia and Elline to comfort her. Drawcia? Up until Dedede, she had nobody! No wonder the situation turned her to villainy…
    • Most of the antagonists in canon have appeared or were mentioned in-universe or just by Word Of God… except Yin-Yarn, Dark Meta Night and Nightmare.
      • Mitigated by Word of God: Nightmare is the god of dreams and a neutral entity (Necrodeus received the same treatment of being turned into a neutral entity), and Dededeman's post about the Mirror World implies Dark Meta Knight is not evil either.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The second arc was originally made in 2008-2009, and revealed that Drawcia’s motive was that she was unjustly exiled for a crime she did not commit, and was hungry for revenge towards the actual culprit, who used her as a scapegoat. The fact the culprit was her brother made things worse, so does the fact the victims were her parents. But in 2013 Kirby: Triple Deluxe came around and made the situation potentially even worse than it already was with the introduction of Drawcia’s sister Paintra, who was hungry for revenge for being separated from Drawcia. The situation being potentially worse depended on whether or not Paintra existed in Dededeman’s universe, and the fact Dededeman confirmed Paintra existed in Dededeman’s universe made things worse indeed. Makes you wonder how Dededeman’s Paintra reacted to the situation…
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: During the final battle with Kyle, Dedede attacks him with a pillar. Canon!Dedede would eventually fight Kirby himself that way while brainwashed by Fecto Forgo.
