• Alternative Character Interpretation: With Coach Sauers chasing the boys around the football field with his car, could it be that he hurt his head doing the helmet test? Is it possible that it caused so much brain damage, it made him lose his mind and make him reach that point?
• Ho Yay: The Flashback to 1974 has Coach Sauers telling the guys if they win the game, he'll kiss everyone of his teammates. They win and Sauers kisses Bill, who then looks enamored afterwards. And it doesn't help afterwards when it cuts back to the present day Bobby proclaiming "How romantic" (he was of course referring to Peggy watching him making the game winning play and cancelling the date with the guy build who built the airports, but still).
• Moral Event Horizon: Coach Sauers has no regard for player safety, but he really goes off the deep end when he chases the players around with his car. It's at that point even Hank finally turns on him.
